Special Education

Special needs children with conditions such as ADHD, ASD, Cerebral Palsy, dyselxia are unable to draw maximum benefit from conventional educational methodologies and need a different approach to education. Special education is the education methodology practiced to teach students with special educational needs by taking into account their individual strengths and weaknesses. The first step in the process is a detailed assessment of the child’s present level of skills followed by a discussion with the parents. The data collected is used to create an Individualised Education Programme (I.E.P. for short) which lays out the teaching procedure, goals and steps to achieve said goals.  These Special education programs meet children where they are and are specially suited for their particular skill set, they encourage independent thinking and actions in everyday life as well as academics. A necessary part of Special education services is ensuring that Parents are made part of the education process so that they can also meaningfully contribute to their child’s journey to recovery. Regular assessments are performed and the I.E.P is updated from time to time to ensure that the child can meet age appropriate goals.
